Zum Ritter geschlagen, mit Oscars geehrt und als frechster Verführer in den Swinging 1960s gehandelt, blickt Sir Michael Caine auf ein Leben mit einer glamourösen Karriere zurück. Doch Erfolg konnte dem Jungschauspieler aus dem Londoner Arbeitermilieu damals niemand versprechen. Noch immer ist der fast 90-Jährige im Filmbusiness und wurde mit dem, was er am liebsten tut, dem „Schauspielern“, zum Millionär. Der Dokumentarfilm porträtiert den Hollywoodstar, der in mehr als 160 Filmen u. a. mit Shirley MacLaine und Jane Fonda vor der Kamera stand und mit großen Regisseuren wie Paolo Sorrentino oder Christopher Nolan drehte.
Außerdem begleitet der Film StudentInnen des Studiengangs Schauspiel an der Hochschule Hannover. Sie probieren gemeinsam mit Schauspielerin Katja Riemann und Professor Titus Georgi Übungen aus Michael Caines Buch „Weniger ist Mehr“ aus.

Knighted, honoured with Oscars and traded as the most impudent seducer in the swinging 1960s, Sir Michael Caine looks back on a life with a glamorous career. But no one could then promise success to the young actor from a London working class background. The almost 90 year-old is still in the film business and became a millionaire by what he likes doing best, namely acting. The documentary portrays the Hollywood star, who performed in front of the camera in over 160 films with, among others, Shirley MacLaine and Jane Fonda, and made films with famous directors such as Paolo Sorrentino or Christopher Nolan.
The film additionally accompanies students in the Acting Study Course at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences. Together with the actress Katja Riemann and Professor Titus Georgi, they are practising exercises from Michael Caine’s book “Less is More”.
