DIE STUNDE DER OFFIZIERE zeigt eine Collage aus Archivaufnahmen, Aussagen von Zeitzeugen sowie hochkarätig besetzten Spielszenen, die die Wege, Motive und Schicksale der Verschwörer lebendig machen.
Das Dokudrama spielt zwischen Frühjahr 1943 und Sommer 1944 und zeigt die Hintergründe und die Vorgeschichte des Attentatsversuchs auf Adolf Hitler. Die Spielhandlung, die hauptsächlich im „Führerhauptquartier" Wolfsschanze, im Berliner Bendlerblock und der Pariser Zentrale der deutschen Truppen in Frankreich angesiedelt ist, konzentriert sich auf den militärischen Widerstand gegen Hitler und wird mit dokumentarischen Bildern und Erinnerungen Beteiligter verwoben. Die Dreharbeiten fanden in Polen und Deutschland statt.
The hour of the officers
On the 20th of July 1944, Graf Stauffenberg attempted to assassinate Hitler. But the tyrannicide failed. THE HOUR OF THE OFFICERS portrays a collage comprised of archive footage, reports from contemporary witnesses as well as scenes enacted by a top-class cast, which bring the background, motives and fate of the conspirators to life.
The documentary drama is set between the spring of 1943 and the summer of 1944 and portrays the background and events leading up to the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler’s life. The plot, which mainly unfolds in the Wolfsschanze „dictator headquarters”, the Berlin „Bendlerblock” and the Paris headquarters of German troops stationed in France, concentrates on the military resistance against Hitler and is interwoven with documentary footage and the recollections of eye witnesses. The film was shot in Poland and Germany.
