Der ehemalige UFA-Mitarbeiter Rolf Meyer brachte Ende der 1940er-Jahre die großen Stars in die Nordheide: Hildegard Knef, Zarah Leander, Heinz Rühmann - sie alle drehten in Bendestorf erfolgreiche Filme (u. a. DIE SÜNDERIN, 1950). Heute ist es ein morbider Ort mit interessanter Historie hinter jeder Tür und in jedem Haus. In den goldenen Zeiten hatten alle Bendestorfer in irgendeiner Form mit den Filmstudios zu tun - in einer spannenden Epoche erfolgreicher norddeutscher Filmgeschichte nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Kurz vor dem Abriss bietet sich ein letzter Blick in die Zeit des so erfolgreichen Nachkriegs- und Heimatfilmes.
When Hollywood came to the Luneburg Heath - the film studios in Bendestorf
At the end of the 1940s the former UFA employee Rolf Meyer brought the big stars to the northern part of the Luneburg Heath: Hildegard Knef, Zarah Leander and Heinz Rühmann - they all made successful films in Bendestorf (among others, “DIE SÜNDERIN”, 1950). Today it is a morbid place with interesting remnants of history behind every door and in each building. In the golden times, everyone living in Bendestorf had something to do with the film studios in some way or another - during an exciting era of successful North German filmmaking history after the Second World War. Shortly before being demolished, the studios offer a final glimpse into the time of those extremely successful post-war and romanticized homeland movies.
