Claus Brennecke ist der tierliebste Schlachter im Harz. Er fährt seine Rinder regelmäßig von A nach B, damit sie auf ihrem letzten Weg nicht aufgeregt sind. Sein Kumpel Gero Krumme gibt seinen Schweinen keine Antibiotika oder andere Medizin. Beide haben hohe Ansprüche an sich und ihre „Ware“. Trotzdem wollen sie die Anforderungen des Biosiegels nicht erfüllen. Familie Nagel produziert ihr Gemüse nach den strengen Demeter-Vorgaben, dennoch kann man es in keinem Supermarkt in der „Bioecke“ kaufen.

Das TV-Feature stellt Menschen vor, die sich bewusst gegen die Produktion bzw. die herkömmlichen Vertriebswege von Lebensmitteln unter dem Bio-Siegel entschieden haben, und zeigt anhand ihrer Geschichte den Weg „dazwischen“ auf.
 

Better without organic

Claus Brennecke is the most animal-loving butcher in the Harz Mountains. He regularly drives his cattle from A to B to avoid them becoming agitated on their final journey. His buddy Gero Krumme doesn’t administer antibiotics or any other medicine to his pigs. Both of them place high demands on themselves and their “goods”. Nevertheless, they are not willing to fulfil the requirements of the organic food label. Although the Nagel family produce their vegetables in compliance with the strict Demeter specifications, you can’t buy them in the organic food corner of any supermarket.

The TV feature presents people who have consciously decided against the production and conventional channels of distribution of food marked with the organic food label, and based on their experiences, outlines a way “in between”.
