Ein Roadmovie der besonderen Art: In drei Folgen geht es 2.000 Meilen durch Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa und Illinois. Die Metropolen Minneapolis und Chicago bilden dabei Start und Ziel. Die Gruppe durchquert drei landschaftliche Regionen, die für den Mittleren Westen stehen. In der ersten Folge sind es die Großen Seen (Great Lakes) im Norden, in der zweiten Folge die Großen Ebenen (Great Plains) im Westen und in der dritten Folge der sogenannte Getreidegürtel (Corn Belt) im Osten. Für die 34-köpfige Reisegruppe ein richtiges Abenteuer. Sie ist auf den Spuren norddeutscher Auswanderer unterwegs und wird erleben, was es heißt, wenn deutsche Ostfriesen auf amerikanische Ostfriesen treffen.

Dibaba in America - 2000 miles through the Midwest

With 34 Low German chatters in a coach through the Midwest of the USA and presenter Yared Dibaba right in the middle. A road movie of a special kind: in three episodes, they travel 2000 miles through Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Illinois. Their journey starts and finishes in the metropolises of Minneapolis and Chicago, respectively. The group crosses three scenic regions representative of the Midwest. The first series covers the Great Lakes in the north, while the second and third series are devoted to the Great Plains in the west and the so-called Corn Belt in the east, respectively.
A real adventure for the travel group of 34. They are on the trail of North German emigrants and will experience what it’s like when German and American East Frisians meet.
