Babette Hnup und Maik Gizinski umrunden Island mit dem Bus auf der berühmten ca. 1.300 Kilometer langen Ringstraße und erkunden dabei ein Land der Gegensätze. Der Bus fährt im Winter nur ein Mal am Tag, wenn überhaupt. Auf ihrer Reise von Reykjavík nach Reykjavík, einmal um diese einzigartige Insel herum, gibt es Begegnungen mit isländischen Originalen, verrückten Typen und starken Frauen, die das kleine Land zu einem großen Abenteuer machen. Die Dokumentation zeigt dabei gewaltige Naturaufnahmen in einem Land aus Feuer und Eis: die magische Winterwelt Islands.
Iceland in winter - glowing lava and endless ice
Iceland in winter offers a breathtaking natural spectacle: this travel documentary shows fire-spitting craters, endless glaciers, roaring waterfalls and mystical northern lights.
Babette Hnup and Maik Gizinski travel around Iceland by bus on the famous approx. 1300 kilometres-long ring road, exploring a country of contrasts. If at all, the bus runs only once a day in winter. On their trip from Reykjavík to Reykjavík, once around this unique island, they encounter original Icelandic characters, crazy types and strong women, all of whom transform this small country into a big adventure. The documentary shows tremendous nature shots in a land of fire and ice: the magical winter world of Iceland.
