Herausgekommen ist eine Reportage, die das spannungsreiche Arbeitsumfeld der Polizisten hoch zu Ross zeigt: Streifendienste bei Wind und Wetter gehören ebenso dazu wie der schnöde Stalldienst und die ständige Ausbildung der Pferde. Ob in Gorleben beim Castor-Transport, beim Fußball oder bei anderen Großveranstaltungen: Die Reiterstaffel ist immer im Einsatz. Die Reportage ermöglicht den Zuschauern aber auch einen Blick hinter die Kulissen der Polizeiarbeit. Offen und ehrlich berichten die Polizisten von ihrem Leben mit den Pferden, erzählen aber auch von ihren Ängsten, Träumen und Wünschen.

Over a period of nine months, Katrin Krebs and her team accompany the Hanover mounted police. The outcome is a report portraying the exciting work environment of the police on horseback: on the beat in all weathers is as much a part of their job as routine work in the stables and continuous training of the horses. Whether to safeguard the transport of nuclear waste in Gorleben, to maintain law and order at football matches or at other large-scale events: the riding squad is always on duty. The report also provides a ”behind the scenes” insight into police work. The policemen talk openly and honestly about their lives with the horses, and also tell about their fears, dreams and aspirations.
