Vier tierische Antihelden auf der Flucht. Der Wachhund Elvis, der Hahn Eggbert, das Zebra Mambo Dibango und mittendrin die weltfremde Hauskatze Marnie, die das Leben außerhalb ihres behüteten Zuhauses nur aus dem Fernsehen kennt. Gemeinsam müssen die vier komplett unterschiedlichen Tiere ein Abenteuer überstehen, das ihr Leben grundlegend verändern wird.
Der vom Grimm'schen Märchen „Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten“ inspirierte Film ist ein modernes Roadmovie voller haarsträubender Situationskomik und eigenwilliger Poesie.
Spy Cat
Four animal anti-heroes on the run. The guard dog Elvis, the cock Eggbert, the zebra Mambo Dibango, and amidst them all, the unworldly domestic cat Marnie, who only knows outside life beyond the shelter of its own four walls from television. Together, the four completely different animals have to overcome an adventure that will radically change their lives.
The film, inspired by the Grimm fairy tale "The Bremen Town Musicians", is a modern road movie full of hair-raising situation comedy and unconventional poesy.

Christoph Lauenstein und Wolfgang Lauenstein *1962 in Hildesheim, sind Zwillingsbrüder, die gemeinsam als Regisseure und Drehbuchautoren arbeiten. Sie studierten beide Animationsfilm: Wolfgang Lauenstein an der HBK Hamburg und Christoph Lauenstein an der HBK Kassel. 1990 gewannen sie mit ihrem animierten Kurzfilm BALANCE einen Oscar und viele weitere Preise. BALANCE wurde 2010 von der International Animated Film Association zu den besten 50 Animationsfilmen der letzten 50 Jahre gewählt (Platz 16). Ihre beiden ersten fertiggestellten Langfilme sind LUIS UND DIE ALIENS (2018) und DIE SAGENHAFTEN VIER.
Christoph Lauenstein and Wolfgang Lauenstein *1962 in Hildesheim, are twin brothers who jointly work as directors and scriptwriters. They both studied animation filmmaking: Wolfgang Lauenstein at the Academy of Visual Arts in Hamburg (HBK Hamburg) and Christoph Lauenstein at the Academy of Visual Arts in Kassel (HBK Kassel). They won an Oscar for their animated short film BALANCE as well as many other prizes in 1990. BALANCE was nominated to rank among the top 50 animated films produced over the past 50 years (place 16) by the International Animated Film Association in 2010. Their first two completed full-length films are “LUIS UND DIE ALIENS” (2018) and “DIE SAGENHAFTEN VIER”.
