Zum zweiten Mal nach 2014 startete die NDR-Radiophilharmonie im Kuppelsaal der niedersächsischen Landeshauptstadt mit den „Hannover Proms“ in die neue Konzertsaison. Musikalisch ging es für den britischen Dirigenten Andrew Manze und die NDR-Radiophilharmonie um das Motto „Stars and Stripes“, ein Konzert mit US-amerikanischen Klassikern von Leonard Bernstein über John Adams bis hin zu George Gershwin.

Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert, Adelsexperte und langjähriger Kommentator der Übertragung der „Last Night of the Proms“ aus der Royal Albert Hall in London im NDR-Fernsehen, führte durch den Abend im Kuppelsaal. Dieser wurde wie schon im Jahr 2014 zum Ort der klassisch guten Laune, mit Liveübertragungen in den Stadtpark Hannover für Picknickgesellschaften aller Generationen und in die Wohnzimmer der Zuschauer.

For the second time subsequent to 2014, the NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra launched its new concert season by way of the "Hannover Proms" in the Dome Hall of Lower Saxony’s capital city. For the British conductor Andrew Manze and the NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra the main theme of the evening was "Stars and Stripes", a concert comprised of US classical pieces by e.g. Leonard Bernstein, John Adams and George Gershwin.

Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert, nobility expert and long-standing commentator of the NDR television broadcasts of the "Last Night of the Proms" from the Royal Albert Hall in London, hosted the event in the Dome Hall. As in 2014, this was again the venue of classical good mood with live transmissions to the City Park of Hanover for picnic parties of all generations as well as to the sitting rooms of TV viewers.
