At the age of 100, Professor Willy Sommerfeld is the oldest practicing silent film pianist in the world. He experienced the beginnings of filmmaking on the piano. His return to silent cinema in the 70’s made him a legend throughout Germany. Our film is aimed at presenting also the „Titan of filmmaking history” (Ulrich Gregor) to the international public.

Film sequences from well-known, lesser-known and forgotten silent films, partly reconstructed, as are also the song texts, portray the life of today’s last surviving authentic silent film pianist of the 20’s.
