DURCHFAHRTSLAND zeichnet ein sehr subjektives Porträt eines Gebietes, das weder zum großstädtischen Raum gehört noch zur ländlichen Provinz. Es ist eine Mischung aus beidem, eine Art „großstädtische Provinz“.
Der Film präsentiert die fünf Protagonisten auf eine sehr persönliche Art und Weise. Jeder von ihnen ist ein Teil der sozialen Struktur von „Durchfahrtsland“ - und jeder lebt auf seine eigene Art im Abseits ...

Remote Area

Five people from five different villages located between Cologne and Bonn: none of them has achieved his aims in life, but none of them gives up. Five outsiders caught up in a fight with urban cities, with progress, and especially with themselves ... REMOTE AREA paints a very subjective picture of an area which neither belongs to the urban districts, nor to the rural province, but which is something in between, something like an „urban province". The film portrays the five protagonists in a very personal way. Each of them is a part of the social structure of „remote area”, but somehow live on the edge, each in his own particular way ...
