Pastorin Regina Hallmann bringt die Kirche unter das fahrende Volk. Sie kennt fast jede Kirmes und jeden Zirkus von Osnabrück bis Rügen. Regina Hallmann ist Pastorin für mehr als 6000 Mitglieder der fahrenden Gemeinde in Norddeutschland. Sie tauft, konfirmiert, verheiratet und beerdigt Artisten, Schießbudenbesitzer, Clowns und Mandelverkäufer.

150 Tage im Jahr zieht sie dafür durch den Norden, um für die Schausteller und Zirkusleute da zu sein. Oft lebt sie dann wie ihre Gemeinde im Campingmobil, muss ihre Behausung in Schuss halten und mit Strom- und Wasseranschlüssen kämpfen. Mal baut sie den Altar auf der Scooterplatte auf, mal im Festzelt. Kirsten Burckschat hat die Pastorin auf ihrer rastlosen Tour durch die Gemeinde begleitet und erlebt, dass eine Schaustellerpastorin auf alles gefasst sein muss.

The female vicar, Regina Hallmann, brings the church to the travelling people. She knows almost every funfair and every circus from Osnabrück to Rügen. Regina Hallmann is a vicar to more than 6000 members of the travelling community in North Germany. She baptises, confirms, marries and buries circus artistes, shooting gallery owners, clowns and almond sellers.

To ensure that she’s always at hand for the circus performers and their fellow companions she travels up and down North Germany 150 days a year. She often lives in campers just like her counterparts, and is expected to keep her lodgings tidy and battle with electricity and water connections. Sometimes she sets up her alter on the dodgem car track, at other times, in the marquee. Accompanying the vicar on her restless journey through the community, Kirsten Burckschat soon realises that a showman vicar must be prepared for anything.
