Topic: "The Global Conflict Series - Games with an agenda beyond entertainment"

Tilman Geishauser is currently representing Serious Games Interactive in Germany. During his stays at Serious Games Interactive in Copenhagen he has worked as Junior Game Designer and Sales Assistant. He is a student of cognitive science at the University of Osnabrück. Before turning towards computer games he was engaged in both realization and promotion of live concerts, readings and audio books.

Summary of presentation

The Global Conflict digital learning games are already used in 15% of Danish schools and have proven as an outstanding tool to raise students interest in complex political issues. Besides evaluating the potential of computer games as teaching material the talk will introduce the basic game mechanics, but also take a look at other games created or under development at Serious Games Interactive.
