Born in 1954, AFC Consultant
Philippe Ros has been working as a DP since 1986 after 11 years as a focus puller.
He is specialized in hand held camera. As a lighting director, he has shot several documentaries on musicians all over the world.
For American feature films, he shot in 35 mm two « Tour de France », one on a motorbike with a set of special cinémascope cameras, customized on his own request.
His knowledge of post-production (including Telecine) lead him to operate the first film in France using a digital intermediate from a 35 mm and a Super 16 mm shooting.
He has also developed the processing of HD cameras computers on shooting. With a graphic artist, he created real time processing to achieve digital image texturing.
Between 2004 and 2009 he worked as a Digital Imaging supervisor on " OCEANS ", a film directed by Jacques PERRIN and Jacques CLUZAUD. His goal was to match underwater HD shots and 35 mm topside shots through several concepts : creation of customized « digital stocks », developments of new customized tools including specific Gamma curves, remote torpedo, remote underwater focusing and three axis microscope shooting, .
He worked as Director of Photography during several months for the night underwater shooting in studio and on location in Australia and New Caledonia.
The first shooting started in May 2005. The last takes were shot in February 2009.

Directed by Yann ARTHUS-BERTRAND. Fifteen months of aerial shooting in HD using the Cineflex, gyro stabilised camera system. Film released on the same day in over 50 countries, mostly free of charge, on every format; movie theaters, TV, DVD and internet. Produced by Denis Carot and Luc Besson.
