Bresinsky, Tom (Klassenleiter X-Over Class)

Erfahrung mit allen Formaten, Film und Video, von 35 mm bis Mini DV. In den letzten Jahren verstärkt mit HD gearbeitet (Sony CineAlta F900 und Panasonic Varicam). Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind Dokudrama und lange Dokumentarfilme (Landschaftsfilme, Personenportraits, Kunst und Musik), aber auch Spielfilm für Fernsehen und Kino. Seine Vorliebe gilt einer dichten visuellen Erzählung und Lichtgestaltung.

As director of photography Thomas Bresinsky is well kown for his creative ability to tell the directors story with breathtaking images and excellent lighting. He is especially experienced in digital cinematography transferring his photographic know how from shooting film (35 mm and Super 16) to the digital world.  He shares his experience in various HD camera workshops, among others „ARD ZDF medienakademie“ in Nürnberg and „Hands On HD“ run by Band Pro Munich and nordmedia. Thomas Bresinsky is member of the german association of cinematography (B.V.K.). His work incudes feature films, commercials and documentaries, mainly about music, art and history.

He started 1986 as cameraassistent, stillphotographer and gaffer for various commercials and feature film productions. 1990 he entered Munich filmschool studying feature film directing and cinematography. As director he shot short
films and a full length documentary "FUN AND BOREDOM", which was invited to leading documentary film festivals. In workshops with Carlo di Palma A.I.C. (D.o.P . of Woody Allen and M. Antonioni) and Billy Williams B.S.C. (academy award for best photography for "Gandhi") he expanded his knowlegde of lighting. Working for Michael Ballhaus A.S.C. and Eduardo Piotraszewski A.S.C. as camera operator he developed his camera work to the high standards of feature film photography.

Since 1993 he works professionally as director of photography for documetaries and commercials. Since 1996 he is shooting fiction, feature films and tv movies. 2000 he shot a prime time TV series (Magic Love“) with the Hongkong director Alex Liu Kok Ho. His shooting experience does include EU countries like Italy, France, GB, further USA, Poland, Russia, Romania, Turky, China, India and North-Africa. He speaks fluently English and Italian. experienced with 35 mm, digital cinematography, high definition, 35 Pro Adapter , Super 16, greenscreen, arial photography, cgi films as director of photography:
